Portimao is a portuguese municipality in the Algarve region that is found in the district of Faro. It has a population of more than 60,000 inhabitants, and it´s beaches are cataloged as some of the best in Portugal. They are the main tourist attraction.

Portimao is the city with a thousand apartments, many of them for rent. Many hotels to choose from and kilometer long beaches, as well as nightlife. Restaurants and bars are also a big thing here, but it is most importantly a city that offers many possibilities for practicing outdoor and aquatic sports such as windsurf, kitesurf and surf. The beaches of Alvor, or Rocha beach are the most important. Alvor for it´s many possibilites to practice water sports, and the Rocha for it´s great tourist complexes.
